About the Pastor

Bishop Oscar Johnson, Jr. relocated to Greensboro, North Carolina in 1966 from Dillon, South Carolina. This is where the Lord allowed him to find the love of his life, First Lady Nancy Kaye Johnson, to whom he has been married for the past 38 years.  The Lord blessed the union with nine beautiful children, five boys and four girls. They have twenty-seven very talented grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.  The children are Deacons, Musicians, Singers and a Secretary.  The church is full of sons, daughters, mothers and workers, all steadily being equipped to do God’s will for the ministry.

PastorPicBishop Johnson was saved and filled with the Holy Ghost in 1976 under the leadership of the late Bishop J.H. Covington Ministry.

One of the kindest and humblest men of God, Bishop Johnson is the Founder and Senior Pastor of God’s House of Deliverance Church of the Apostolic Faith, Incorporated, located in Greensboro, North Carolina.

The naked word of God is preached by Bishop Johnson at each and every service, as he will not back down from the word of God as it is given to him. This word is to those who thought they could never be believers to the true word of God, as well as, newcomers and overcomers.

Bishop Johnson was called into the ministry in 1996 after being under the leadership of the late Bishop J.H. Covington, Founder and Overseer of the Powerhouse of Deliverance Church of the Apostolic Faith, Incorporated.

Serving as head Deacon on the Junior and Senior Deacon Boards and Superintendent of the Sunday School Department qualified Bishop Johnson and established him in his works for the Lord.

Bishop Johson established God’s House of Deliverance Church in 1996, after leaving Powerhouse of Deliverance Church and being led to Christ Temple Church under the leadership of the late J.W. Henderson, where he was ordained as an Elder.

Bishop Johnson has dedicated his ministry to saving the lost at all costs, praying for the dying, sick and those that suffer under the bounds of the devil. This is done so that men and women, as well as, the young adults will be free to serve the Lord, preparing them for the kingdom of God to come.

Bishop Johnson’s favorite quote is “Follow me, as I follow Christ.”
